HandyRacks - Vol. 1

HandyRacks Vol. 1 is the first instalment of 11 Ableton-native racks I've made to help speed up your workflow in Ableton Live. They range from creative sound design tools to mixing utilities, and are designed to be easy to use, keeping you focused on what matters; the song.

All 11 racks work with Ableton Live Suite 11 without any 3rd party plugins required, with the exception of the Wavestune Rack, which requires Wavestune RT.

Meet the Racks:

Crystal

A crystallizer-style effect producing granular sparkles over the source material. Various macros allow for a wide range of granular sounds anywhere from a subtle sheen to crazy psychedelic stars capes.

Ducky Delay

Easily create that automatically sidechain under the source signal. Especially handy on vocals where you want the delayed signal to tuck under the source signal, but still come to the forefront between vocal lines.

Filterbuddy

A super simple rack combining a LPF and HPF in one easy interface so you don’t have to load two Auto Filters all the time.

Headphones

Experimental monitoring effect for simulating mixing on speakers when using headphones. Adjusting the one knob upwards will create crosstalk between channels, meaning a bit of the left channel will bleed into the right channel, and vice versa.

Lofi

Quickly create tape simulation artefacts such as wow, flutter, crackle, as well as a tape stop. The drive control can take the source signal from subtle tape saturation all the way to analog destruction.

Pulser

Add a 16th pulse to any sound, great to add a bit of movement to synth pads and keys.

Pump

Instant four on the floor sidechain without any setup. Macros to adjust intensity of effect as well as time subdivision.

Smooth

A native device replicating resonance suppression plugins such as Smooth Operator and Soothe2. Increasing ‘Sensitivity’ will increase the level of the effect,

Spacemaker

Trackspacer style rack that analyses an external sidechain signal and automatically applies an inverse curve to the main signal, automatically cutting clashing frequencies from the main signal. Read more about Spacemaker here.

Unboom

A quick native dynamic EQ to remove muddiness from any source material quickly. Much more transparent then. using a normal EQ, as the muddy frequencies are attenuated only when they are above a specific threshold, determined by the Sensitivity knob.

Wavestune Rack

An easier way to use Wavestune within the rack view. Click on a macro to set the scale, and adjust the most important tuning parameters without having to open the plugin window. Requires Wavestune RT
